The caddy to the hood restored. <br /> <br />Benjamin Broadhead was apprenticed to William Speakman 24 Aug 1702 and free 29 Sept 1709.  He was the son of Parry Broadhead of St Andrew's Hoborn , Middlesex, gentleman. It is very unusual for a gentleman's son to take a trade and he may well have reverted to being a gentleman, possibly on his father's death?  This may account to the scarcity of his clocks.  Speakman was Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1701.
